Veterinary anatomy is a fundamental branch of veterinary science that deals with the study of the structure and organization of the bodies of animals. It provides a detailed understanding of the form, location, and relationships of different organs, tissues, and systems in both domestic and wild animals.
The study of veterinary anatomy is broadly divided into gross anatomy, which examines structures visible to the naked eye, and microscopic anatomy (histology), which focuses on tissues and cells. It also includes developmental anatomy (embryology), which explains how animals grow and develop from conception to adulthood. By comparing anatomical structures across different species, veterinary anatomy helps in understanding species-specific variations that are essential for proper animal care and management.
